Who's Spooking Around AOPP

 Spooking Around

This week we continue to be Spook-tacular at AOPP! We started the making BOO! Crafts. The kids were so happy to paint and to have them posted outside their classes for all to see. We love when they take so much pride in their artwork.

On Tuesday, we spun our kids in toilet paper to make them into mummies. They loved it so much. They even took the time to wrap their teachers and tell spooky stories.

Today is National Pumpkin Day and our older classes had a chance to play Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin. This was the funniest game ever. Our PreK kids spun around 3 times and try their best. Some were very close while others were not close at all. This was such a great way to celebrate National Pumpkin Day!

Time for Halloween Fun

Halloween Fun

This week are celebrating Halloween in full force. We started the week with a new game of Candy corn Bowling. The kids really got into it and loved knocking over the candy corn pins with the pumpkin bowling ball.

Tuesday, we had a Halloween “Spooky: Grab ‘n Go Treat for our kids at pick-up. No tricks involved just treats.

Today the classes made paper plate monsters. I loved to see them get really invested in making their monsters “scary” but still cute. Those conversations are the best.

Health & Safety Month

Fire Truck Visit

The month of October is Healthy and Safety Month. We have been learning about safety and having fun making sure we stay safe from any harm. We started the month by learning the Tennessee Keeping Kids Safe Curriculum and having our Stranger Danger drill.

This week, we had the Brentwood Fire Department come to visit. The kids were so excited to see the truck, meet the firefighter, and learn more about what they do. The firefighters allowed the kids to explore the truck and even sit inside.

Monday, before the arrival of the Fire Department, every class made Thank You posters for their services. The firemen were more than grateful for the sweet posters and the hugs and high-fives that were given to them by our AOPP kiddos. Who knew Health and Safety could be so fun.

It's Time to Party

Infant Music Class

Monday, we had our quarterly Infant Music Class. We love Demaree Music who does the classes for our babies to enjoy. A lot of our activities as a school are usually geared toward our older friends and our infants are usually only getting out of their classes to have a little outside time. When we have the class, the kids are thrilled. They love to hear the songs/music and see the bubbles.

She also, adds a little bit of extra fun by letting them play with balls and if they are able, hold tiny instruments. They were all so ecstatic to be out of their classrooms and get some new entertainment.

The best part about this time go round with Demaree Music, she didn’t just do our infants class. She surprised us and did all our classes. So, our toddlers, preschool and pre-k were all about to enjoy this music class as well. This was a great way to start the week.
