Traveling Safely

Safety First
This week many of our AOPP families are traveling for the holidays. I know this time of the year is when things can be chaotic and fast-paced, but we must remember that the safety of ourselves and our families is what’s more important.

A recent article from the Travel Channel by Kathleen Rellihan was published to inform readers of the Top 10 Survival Tips for Holiday Travel. The tips are as following:

1: Do your research.
2: Stay connected.
3: Pack light.
4: Pack earplugs.
5: Don't get hangry.
6: Ship gifts or give gift cards.
7: Travel on off-peak days.
8: Travel early or late in the day.
9: Plan for the unexpected.
10: Inhale. Exhale.

These tips are very important because during this time of the year can be tricky when traveling.

Thanksgiving Feast

Happy Thanksgiving!

Today at The Academy, we celebrated Thanksgiving. Friends and Families came together to feast on food and enjoy time together. There were tons of families to attend and from the looks of it all, we can say that they enjoyed their time. The children were just as thankful as the parents. Having lunch with their moms and dads brought them so much joy! This was out of the ordinary, but they were all so grateful!

Time spent together can be very rewarding. During the Thanksgiving season so many families travel, so an early thanksgiving at school allows our small friends to experience a thanksgiving with their school family. All our friends were all smiles.

Traveling during the holidays can be chaos. Just remember that this holiday season is a time to be Thankful. So, move forward with a kind heart and a grateful spirit. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Fall Leaves

Autumn Leaves!

It's beginning to be the time of year where our leaves change colors and fall from the tree. What better way to enjoy this weather than collecting leaves and throwing them in the air?

Our Toddler 2 class had a blast today! Ms. Taylor encouraged her friends to collect leaves and try to count them as collected them, but some of our friends, mid-count, decided tossing them in the air would be more fun! And from the looks on our littles ones facing, it was the best time ever!

Leaving flowing in the air, smiles from ear to ear and the nice Autumn breeze to complete the mood, was everything and more today! Before the big cold front comes in, enjoying this awesome Fall day helps!

Happy Halloween

Indoor Trick-or-Treating!

This Halloween was a blast at Powell Place. The rain had no chance of stopping the fun of trick-or-treating on today! All the kids and teachers went over and beyond on costumes. Some kids weren’t recognizable. This made Halloween fun, mysterious and sweet as candy.

Throughout the day, classes were able to go door-to-door trick-or-treating and get lots of candy. This excited not only the kids, but many parents joined the classes as they went on this Halloween adventure. It made the fun of Halloween a little sweeter.

To end the day, all the classes had their own Halloween party. The parties gave the kids, parents and teachers time to bond and have fun. It was incredible. Halloween was definitely more of a treat than a trick this year.
