Challenge Accepted

Chalk the Walks at Powell Place
During this time of social distancing, we here at the Academy want to remind our families that we miss them and they we are all in this together. To show this, our school and a few other academies decided to host a Chalk The Walks Academy Challenge.

We challenged the parents to take some time our of their day to go and draw on the concrete at home with their little ones. This activity was opened to those at school and those who’ve chosen to stay home.

We made baggies for parents to drive by and pick up when they had a change so that everyone could be included. We ran out of baggies fast and we saw lots of art on the concrete from families. We were so pleased to see how we can still be together while being so far apart.

Creating the World

HAPPY EARTH DAY

Today at The Academy we celebrated Earth Day! Our Preschool 2 class took the craft of making a class Earth to the next level.

Although many of our friends are not here, they encouraged them to mail in a tracing or painted green hand-print and a few did. The kiddos that were present were able to paint their hand-prints on the blue Earth.

After they finished, they posted their class Earth in their room. Happy Earth Day!

We Love Our Staff

SELF CARE IS THE BEST CARE
Here at the Academy our main goal is to make sure the teachers are taking good care of our little ones. We’ve found that if we take care of the teachers, they can take better care of the little ones.

During this time, we’ve transformed our break-room into a teacher’s relaxation spa. While our teachers and faculty are on break, they can take advantage of relaxation music, face mask, a massage, a snack and some lemon and strawberry water.

Our teachers were more than pleased with the transformation and they really took full advantage of this spa. We, as management, were pleased that they loved it so much.

Easter Drive-Thru

We were so excited to see our school family during our Easter Drive-Thru. Our teachers created sweet messages for families as they drove thru to see everyone from a safe distance. Bubbles and music were playing to greet everyone that we miss so much. We even had the Easter Bunny here!!

We are Still Learning!

Circle Time at Home
Many Families have decided to social distance themselves during this time. Here at the Academy, we understand, and we want to reach out to our families to inform them of our circle time (learning time) lesson every week.

Many of have some type of smart device and so do we here. One way that we bridged the gap of learning from home is using the FaceTime app to have circle time with those at school and at home at the same time.

This has been one incredible learning experience. Our Preschool 2 class has had daily circle time in class using this technique. The children at home and at school love it.

Finding the Letter P

Every week they have a letter and those friends at home find objects that begin with the letter while those at school circle the letter during the morning message. It has become so interesting and fun all together.

Found Pliers

Found a Pig

Many of our families are so appreciative because their little ones get to keep up with the daily lesson. The gap between learning at home and at school had been bridged.
