Children's Dental Health Month

 Toothbrush Painting

This month we celebrated Children’s Dental Health Month. All week we hosted activities in and out of the classrooms. We started the week with a Virtual visit from a Dentist and we ended the week with a bang with toothbrush painting.

All our friends really enjoy painting with something other than their fingers and paintbrushes. This was so cool!

Special Blog

Special Blog Edition

Every second Tuesday of each month we have staff meetings in order to reconnected and inform our staff of any changes or upcoming events that will take place. This past Tuesday, we did an ice breaker so those new employees can mingle in with the old employees and create the family bond that we’ve always strive to have at AOPP. The ice breaker was a paper, rock, scissor contest and the winner was a new employee to the AOPP family, Ms. Fatima of Preschool 2.

After breaking the ice, we announced our Featured Teacher (Teacher of the Month), Ms. Mary. Ms. Mary has been with AOPP going on 3 years and has been patient during this COVID-19 season. She has also always had a positive attitude when the uncertainty of a co-teacher was ever a topic. She absolutely deserved it and many families and friends agreed.

We also celebrated one of our educators birthday, Ms. Tiffany (first picture), and another educator’s, Ms. Madison (second picture) six (6) year anniversary with AOPP! We are so grateful for both of them!

Lastly, to close our meeting we surprised our Director, Ms. Michele, with a Happy One Year at AOPP video and flowers. All of our employees created heartfelt videos to congratulate her for being with us a year and some parents emailed their regards as well. We are so honored and happy to have Ms. Michele and she has been the perfect director for this chaotic year! We all agree that she’s made one of the greatest directors we’ve had!

Groundhogs Day Activity

Happy Groundhog’s Day

Yesterday was Groundhog’s Day! Groundhog’s Day is a celebration in Pennsylvania where the groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, determines whether spring will come early or we will have six (6) more weeks of winter.

Around 7:25am, Phil saw his shadow and predicted six more weeks of winter. So, brace yourself for more time in your coats.

To celebrate, we created an activity for our little friends to participate in to show how Phil saw his shadow and made his prediction. Our friends were given small groundhogs to color, a black sheet of paper, some tape and chalk. They started coloring their groundhogs, then we taped them to the black paper and used the chalk to create the shadow.

This was such a fun activity, and our friends were even more overjoyed that our Director, Ms. Michele, join in one this activity. They all turned out great.
