Preparing for Summer

Summer Kick-off

This week we did a lot of preparation for Summer. As management, we didn’t only prepare our staff but our parents and kids too. We started the week giving Boxes of Sunshine ☀️ to our staff. And the classes did a classroom scavenger hunt ðŸ”Ž for National Scavenger Hunt Day!

Tuesday we had 3 friends, each representing our older classes, broadcast the weather! ðŸŒ§ ðŸŒž

Wednesday, we surprised our staff with a sweet treat, Walking Churros! It definitely takes a team effort to have a rocking summer so just as much as we prepare ourselves and the families, we prepare our teachers.

To close the week, we handed out summer shirts, water bottles and chalk to our kids. Summer is literally a few days away. Our first water day is next week and all of our friends are super excited! We all can’t wait.

Featured Teacher- May

Lynn Childress

Every month we have announced a Featured Teacher. This honor and award do not come lightly or easily. Every featured teacher is nominated by his/her peers and awarded a cash prize, a gift, a special parking spot, and bragging rights! For this months Featured Teacher award, we wanted to honor a support staff member. We realized that our support staff are appreciated but do not get to participate or received this award so we chose May just for them.

This month’s Featured Teacher/Support Staff is Mrs. Lynne! She is our Health & Wellness Coordinator, our School Mom, our School Keeper, and One Awesome Cook! All the kids love her, know her by name and look forward to seeing her daily. They love her cooking (they can also tell when she did not cook it 😬🤣) and enjoy it when she gets to stay for longer than to leave food! We are grateful for Mrs. Lynne!

We ❤️ Moms

Mother’s Day Love ❤️

Although Mother’s Day seemed to have come so fast this year, we did not forget to show our moms at AOPP how much we appreciate them. So the following Monday after Mother’s Day, we prepared a Mother’s Day Sweets Bar for Breakfast! This was in efforts to boost their “oh it’s Monday” feeling, get their day started, and to express our gratitude!

We are thankful and honored to have all our families. Happy ðŸ˜Š Mother’s Day!

Teacher Appreciation Week

 Nacho Average Teacher

This week was Teacher Appreciation Week and we went over and beyond to express how much we love, care for, and appreciate our educators for all that they do. We also got our parents involved to make sure that our goals were met and we were able to give the best week for them. This week’s theme was “Nacho Average Teacher” as we created a Cinco de Mayo/Mexican/Spanish atmosphere. We had something planned each day for our educators with big surprises in store.

Monday: “Our Teachers Guac!”

We gifted our educators with Custom “Nacho Average Teacher” bags with Spanish theme supplies inside, a Fiesta Breakfast Bar and, with the parent’s help, Mani & Pedi cash!

Tuesday: “Let’s Taco Bout How Awesome Y’all Are!”

We gifted our educator with a catered Taco and Nacho Bar from Moe’s, personalized notes, a custom shirt, and, with the parent's help, a gift card to their favorite stores.

Wednesday: “Making the Day a SMASHING Success!”

We gifted our educator with a DIY Pinata with a cash prize. Our parents chipped in to make the cash prize much greater! Super THANKS to them.

Thursday: “Let’s Get to the Point, You Rock!”

We gifted all our 21+ educator is a customized mason jar full of drink mixtures, and, with the help of our parents, they got a $50 gift card to Amazon and a $25 Uber gift card.

Friday: Muchos Gracias Amigos!”

We gifted our educators with a Churro Dessert Bar and our awesome parents paid for dinner for the staff at Cinco de Mayo the restaurant.

This week was all that and more and we are so grateful that our parents were able to help, and our teachers were happy. Weeks like these remind, not only the teacher, how much we appreciate them as management but also how much the parent appreciate them caring for their children each day.
