Christmas Program Recap

Christmas Program Success!

The Pre-K Christmas Program was absolutely incredible. Their selection of music and the energy they brought put smiles on all their parents and friends' faces. It was one impressive show.

The best part of the show was singing Jingle Bells. The families were encouraged to join in with their children and sing. This made the atmosphere feel like Christmas with a large family. It warmed so many hearts!

To end the program and time with families, the children were able to enjoy a sweet treat and some juice. Quite successful if I could say so myself.

Pre-K Christmas Program

Christmas Cheer is in the Air!

On tomorrow, December 19, our Pre-K classes are putting on a Christmas Program. This is done annually but this year, they are kicking it up a notch. With songs like Jingle Bells, We Wish You A Merry Xmas, Snowflake Song, and I am a Little Penguin, the program is a sure win to be good.

Pre-K 2 is all for perfection! Daily practices have been done to ensure this is the best show ever. The teachers even went further and beyond to send home the songs to practice with their parents! Here a little sample of their practice.

A Snowy Day

A Little Snow is better than none at All!

On yesterday, our Pre-K 1 class was more than excited to see snow finally fall from the sky this winter. Although it was light, and only a little bit of snow, it was better than no snow at all.

The class started the snow day by going outside and attempting to catch tiny snowflakes on their tongues. Many of them assumed it would be the easiest thing to do, but soon found it was much harder. Somehow they tiny tongues kept missing the snowflakes.

Once that fun was over, they all joined together to read the book, The Snowy Day! In the book, the main character, Peter experienced his first snow day. Peter figured the snow would be all gone by the next day, so he decided to keep a snowball in his pocket. By the time Peter got to bed, the snowball had melted and he was sad, but the snow was still around the next day!

Our Pre-K 1 friends loved the book, and all really hoped to have a big snowy day like Peter soon.

To end the snow day, our friends did a craft, creating their own melted snowballs or snowmen! This was a messy blast! Everyone loved it! I'd have to say, this has been one of the best snow days ever.

Pine-cone Christmas Tree Craft

Mini Christmas Trees

Today at the Academy, our little friends made their own personal Christmas Trees using pine-cones. This craft was such an awesome one. A lot of our friends were very happy to dip and paint the pine-cones in green paint and the finale where they’d use gold or silver glitter to decorate was amazing. Many of our friends went all in with the glitter and many of them were very precise. It made each tiny Christmas Tree unique and special. We are definitely ready for the holidays at Powell Place!
