Halloween Season

More Halloween Fun

This week we have kicked our Halloween activities into full gear. We started the week with all our friends wearing orange and black. This was such a cute day and I love to see everyone participate, even our infants.

Tuesday, we had a mummy invasion. Our teachers turned their kids into mummies by wrapping them up in toilet paper. The kids were so excited to do this activity. The silliness was never-ending after that.

Today they are making paper plate monsters and tomorrow will be our big Trunk or Treat Event. I will be blogging twice this week so you all can see. Check back next Wednesday.

Spooky Season

 Halloween

is Approaching

With Halloween so close, we have been celebrating all month long but especially this week. We started this week doing a school-wide Skeleton Dance Party over the intercom. The kids absolutely loved it and the teachers were thrilled that it was by surprise.

Yesterday, we had a Spooky Treat ready for our friends at pick-up. All of them were so happy to have the Monster Mix. We made sure to remind them to eat the treat after dinner.

Today at AOPP, we are reading the book, “There was an Old Lady who Swallowed a Ghost”. This was the best book to have the classes read, because are friends were so into what would happen next.

National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

 IT’S A PINK OUT

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, AOPP chose today to have a PINK Out. All our staff and kiddos wore some sort of pink and wore it with pride.

We had several friends have ribbons on their shirts, which is the symbol for breast cancer. Days like these when we join in unity to draw awareness for a good cause is the best.

National Pumpkin Seed Day

 National Pumpkin Seed Day

Today at AOPP, we had National Pumpkin Seed Day and all our older classes were able to dissect pumpkins.

This was the best thing ever and all the classes were fascinated with the way it felt inside and all our teachers asked them some open-ended questions to get them to become more detailed.

This was so fun that we had to go further with it and make Pumpkin Volcanoes. I sat in on Preschool 2’s fun and the kids’ expressions were very interesting. They all loved the Volcanoes but not so much of the feeling of the inside of a pumpkin.
