Creating Smiles

It’s the Little Things That Count
Last week our Transition class took matters into their own hands to put a smile on our staff members’ faces.

While bringing in the new season of Spring, they made flowers for our staff using tissue paper and pipe cleaners. They were very creative with this idea.

After finishing, they walked around as a class and presented each teacher with a flower. It was the cutest thing ever.

Our Transition class has transformed their class to be all about spring. To top off their creativity, love, and kindness, they have a quote on their door by McCall Manor stating, “If friends were flowers, I’d pick you!”

PJ Day!

Making It Fun!
Through all the chaos that has transpired in the world, what better way to put a smile on our faces than a Pajama Day!

Many of our friends and families are staying home to keep safe during this trying time, while others must continue to go to work. To make the atmosphere as home-like as possible, our staff and kids had a PJ day!

Our staff went all out in their own jammies and even put together a photo booth to have the kiddos take pictures. It was a fun day!

Healthy & Safety

We Are on It!

Here at the Academy, we have taken all the necessary precautions to keep not only the kids safe but the family and staff as well.
Continuous updates from the CDC have been our main source. We still have so many parents who need and appreciate the care we provided because they still must attend work.

The CDC has kept us up-to-date on symptoms and procedures we should be doing in the workplace. Some of the symptoms mentioned are:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
Procedures to prevent the spread of the virus are:

  • Avoid close contact with those who are sick.
  •  Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
More information on these symptoms and procedures can be found at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html

At the center we have flyers posted and we are making sure the teachers are implementing these procedures in all their classrooms! We are on it! We have to keep everyone safe.

Read Across America

It’s Read Across America Week

This week at the Academy, we are celebrating Read Across America week. And just reading in general from our little friends to our big kids who read to us sometimes.

It's definitely a warm feeling when sitting in a classroom reading the books that all our friends love to hear. It not only makes the educator's day but the students day as well.

These little babies just melt our hearts as they indulge in books on their own or with a little help. They grow up so fast!
