Safety is a Must!

Don’t Get Ready, Be Ready!

This week we continue to practice our drills and make sure we are always prepared for anything that may come our way. The drill we took on this week was our “Intruder Drill”. This drill has grown to be so important now since the over occurrence of school intruders/shootings have come to light. The safety of our little ones and our staff is very important.

Many people believe that there is no way of preventing this situation, and they are right. But what we can do is make sure we don’t leave “the door open” so that the intruder can walk in. We have to be prepared.

We take safety serious so all classrooms are prepared with plans in place and a way to prevent the intruder from just walking in. Each classroom is equipped with an Emergency Lockdown tool. This helps to keep the intruder on the other side of the door and away from our little ones. It looks simple, but is very powerful.

Sometimes we forget that there is danger outside of school/work that wants to make its way in. We must remember to protect our little ones ability to learn and to have fun.
