Health & Safety Month

Fire Truck Visit

The month of October is Healthy and Safety Month. We have been learning about safety and having fun making sure we stay safe from any harm. We started the month by learning the Tennessee Keeping Kids Safe Curriculum and having our Stranger Danger drill.

This week, we had the Brentwood Fire Department come to visit. The kids were so excited to see the truck, meet the firefighter, and learn more about what they do. The firefighters allowed the kids to explore the truck and even sit inside.

Monday, before the arrival of the Fire Department, every class made Thank You posters for their services. The firemen were more than grateful for the sweet posters and the hugs and high-fives that were given to them by our AOPP kiddos. Who knew Health and Safety could be so fun.

It's Time to Party

Infant Music Class

Monday, we had our quarterly Infant Music Class. We love Demaree Music who does the classes for our babies to enjoy. A lot of our activities as a school are usually geared toward our older friends and our infants are usually only getting out of their classes to have a little outside time. When we have the class, the kids are thrilled. They love to hear the songs/music and see the bubbles.

She also, adds a little bit of extra fun by letting them play with balls and if they are able, hold tiny instruments. They were all so ecstatic to be out of their classrooms and get some new entertainment.

The best part about this time go round with Demaree Music, she didn’t just do our infants class. She surprised us and did all our classes. So, our toddlers, preschool and pre-k were all about to enjoy this music class as well. This was a great way to start the week.

FrogStreet Curriculum

OUR SENSES

We started our curriculum at the beginning of this month and it has been a success. We would love to highlight our PreK Two class as they have been learning about their Senses this past week! Ms. Madison, our PreK teachers, has conducted an Eye Color Bar Graph with all the kids as apart of the sight sense.

There were so many different ties as this was being conducted but over all, our Blue eye friends won!

Day later the kiddos learned about their sense of touch. As an activity, they examined their fingerprints.

This was a week of fun learning but more importantly enhancing their senses for the future!

Time to Kick Off the School Year

Open House!! 🏈

Last week was our School Year Kick-Off Week. We brought the week in the only way we knew how. We went all out and had a Football themed Open House for our families.

If you’ve never visited or seen our Open House, we set up all our teachers with all the materials they need to show the families what the kids will begin to do and learn this upcoming school year. We used very easy and unique ways to communicate all this information. For each class outside their doors, they had QR codes for the parents to scan if they wanted a little more information than the teacher may have provided, they got to go into the classroom for the first time in a long time, which was a plus and talk with the teachers without interruption from the kids.

This night was a success! The best class was our PreK 2 classroom where parents flooded in to see how they can partner with the teachers to make sure they have their little ones as ready for kindergarten as possible. Lots of the parents seemed worried, but Ms. Madison reassured them that by this time next year, they will be well equipped to take on kindergarten.
