School Bus Safety!

Yesterday our PreK kids got to explore a school bus in preparation for kindergarten. We had the best bus driver, Ms. Kim. Ms. Kim was so informative and kind to our Pre-Kindergarteners.
She showed them the bar that comes out of the front of the bus that they can walk in front of. The bar shows the kids where to walk so that the bus driver can see whos in front of the bus. Ms. Kims is a bus driver for special education students, so we got to see all the modifications made on the bus to cater all kinds of needs. She showed Ms. Madison's class how they get wheelchairs up the ramp and onto the bus.
We talked about the importance of wearing your seatbelt and only talking to the friend next to you so that the bus driver can keep everyone safe. Our Pre-K kids were certainly in awe of the bus and Ms. Kims knowledge that she could share!
Don't forget to vote for us for Best of Parenting Magazine! Today we will have a booth up by our fish tank as a reminded with lots of goodies to take home!

Reduse, Reuse, Recycle!

This month’s buzz activity was a recycling exercise! Last week, we set out recycled materials such as old paper towel rolls, paper plates, magazine, plastic bottles, and tissue paper that our families could take home and turn them into something new!

Our families who participated really got their creativity flowing! Here’s what they came up with.

Now these are ALL so creative and they really encapsulated the spirit of recycling and reusing old materials to make something new.

We had our school families and staff vote on their favorite and the winner is… *drum roll*

…The Spedding Family! They made that big dinosaur. Now they get to take home a gardening kit to use with the family!

Stay tuned every month for a new buzz activity!

First Water Day of 2022!

The sun is shining and it’s warm outside. You know what that means… water day! This year, we have several water tables with age appropriate toys for our littles. A few of them were hesitant at first, but once they saw other people playing in the water, they went all out!

Look at that face!

For our older classrooms, we got a BIG water slide!

And for those who didn’t want to go down the slide, we provided a small pool with age appropriate fishing toys that they could play with

We could definitely tell how much fun they had by the smiles on their faces. Here’s to many more water days this summer!

Special Guest Puppet Show: Jill Thatcher

Last Wednesday we had a special guest - Jill Thatcher! She put on an ocean animal-themed puppet show for classrooms Preschool 1 and up.

She sang songs and told stories in silly voices using her puppets. All of the kids were given the opportunity to participate by standing up, moving around, dancing, and singing along. We had so much participation from our kids!

What better way is there to end our springtime and move right on into summer than with Ms. Thatcher's puppet show?
